Terms of Service

1. Agreement and eligibility

These Terms govern your use of the Itkalam website, iPhone app, AI voice rooms, learning tools, and related services. By using Itkalam, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy.

You must be at least 13. If you are under the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or guardian must review these Terms and supervise your use. Itkalam is not directed to children under 13.

2. Free access limits and accounts

Itkalam is currently offered free with usage limits. We may limit free voice minutes, concurrent rooms, guest conversation frequency, features, or invite availability to manage cost and reliability. A guest may try a short conversation; an account may be required for longer practice, saved progress, debriefs, or additional voice time.

You are responsible for accurate account information, safeguarding credentials, and activity under your account. Do not share access in a way that bypasses limits or security controls.

3. Family Circle controlled pilot

Family Circle, when made available to your account, is a controlled 13+ feature for sharing reviewed AI practice-character settings among known Itkalam accounts. It is not available for an under-13 account. Itkalam does not verify an organizer's identity, family relationship, parent or guardian status, or legal authority, and it does not represent that circle members are relatives.

By creating a circle, inviting an account, or sharing a character, the organizer represents that they are authorized to share the chosen display name and structured character settings with the intended accounts and have permission to invite those accounts. Invite only a specific person you know to be age 13 or older. Do not post, publish, forward, sell, or otherwise give an invitation to anyone else. Before approving a pending account, the organizer and applicant must compare the verification code shown to each of them through a separate trusted channel.

The organizer controls approvals, rejections, removals, invitations, and shared characters; a member can leave. Family Circle shares AI character settings only. It does not provide real-person messages, voice or video calls, chat rooms, presence, people discovery, contact sharing, precise location, or route sharing. Do not use Family Circle to communicate with, track, or monitor a real person.

4. AI conversation and learning guidance

AI partners can make mistakes, misunderstand speech, use imperfect dialect, or give inaccurate cultural or language guidance. Output is educational practice, not a guaranteed translation, credential, or assessment. Itkalam is not a medical, legal, financial, emergency, or other professional service.

Personas are fictional learning experiences even when they reflect familiar social roles or places. Do not rely on a roleplay response for an important real-world decision.

Real-place search and route rehearsal use third-party map data that may be missing, outdated, unavailable, or different from conditions on the ground. Itkalam is a preparation tool, not a turn-by-turn navigation, safety, accessibility, business, opening-hours, or transportation guarantee. Confirm important routes and place details in the map provider's current app and follow local signs and authorities.

5. Safe use

Use Itkalam only as a passenger or while safely parked when in a vehicle. Never hold, read, type on, or otherwise interact with a device while driving. You are responsible for following local law and using the microphone safely and respectfully.

6. Acceptable use

Do not use Itkalam to break the law; harass, exploit, or threaten anyone; sexualize minors; submit malware; probe or bypass security; scrape or overload the service; evade usage or credit limits; impersonate another person; or use generated content to deceive or harm. We may suspend or terminate access to protect users, providers, and the service.

7. Your content and privacy

You keep any rights you have in words or other content you submit. You give Itkalam a limited license to process that content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the service. Voice, transcript, learning, and account data are handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Itkalam materials

The Itkalam name, logo, software, interface, original scenarios, and other service materials are owned by Itkalam or its licensors and protected by applicable law. These Terms give you a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service; they do not transfer ownership.

9. Paid services

Itkalam currently includes limited free use. If paid subscriptions are introduced, price, renewal period, included credits, and cancellation terms will be shown before purchase. iPhone purchases will be handled through Apple and subject to Apple’s billing terms. We will not charge you without a clear purchase confirmation.

10. Availability and changes

Features may change, pause, fail, or be discontinued. We do not promise uninterrupted access, permanent storage of guest data, or compatibility with every device. We may update these Terms and will revise the date above; material changes may require renewed acceptance.

11. Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by law, Itkalam is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted operation. To the extent permitted by law, Itkalam and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, or opportunity arising from use of the service. Rights that cannot legally be waived remain unaffected.
